About Dennis Holcomb...

Dennis Holcomb is a self trained artist who combines photography with painting in search of the image which is sublime. Having been raised in a military family he has traveled extensively and had contact with many peoples and cultures, and seeks to infuse that experience into his paintings by searching for that which is universal and can touch all people. Thus he uses nature as the vehicle by which to express himself, nature in its purest form. But each painting is more than a simple portrayal of nature scenery, it is meant to be used as a mandala, for deeper examination or as a metaphor for our life experiences. The artist always has a deeper intent in each painting, yet feels the intent of the viewer is just as important so welcomes each interpretation of the work.

Working in his studio on one of the latest paintings.

Oil and acrylic paint on Arches Watercolor paper , and attached to a wood panel by glue. Often several pieces will compose one image.

In the last 15 years he has exhibited in Europe, China , Korea and Japan . In particular he has shown throughout Japan in various exhibitions. Well over 250 original paintings have been purchased by artlovers from around the globe.
